ZANZIBAR MAFIA DAY TRIP

Whale sharks are wild animals which means there is no guarantee that we will see them, although we will always try our best. Afro Whale Shark is built and run by locals (most of us ex-fisherman) so we have years of experience finding the sharks as they used to lead us to a good catch! Season start from August to March (2022)
 
Unless arranged otherwise, we will start at 6.00 am when we pickup you up from your lodge in Zanzibar our driver will driving down to Zanzibar Airport and check in to Mafia by flight, After arriving to Mafia IlsandAirport our team will pick up and drop off to Afro Beach a whale shark base. We are the first to leave which gives us the best chance of finding the sharks first – please do be on time. You will come to Mafia Island  at Afro Beach Snacks  and a briefing before heading out on our traditional boat.
 
The tour time varies depending on sightings but usually takes around 3-4 hour for searching and spotting them
 
The cost of the tour is 550$ per person, . This includes
  • Pick-up and drop off from your lodge of choice
  • Snorkel and fin hire
  • Local breakfast (egg, chapati, fruit and hot drink) or snacks on the boat
  • Water
  • An experienced captain and 2 guides/spotters
  • Community fees

Itinerary

  • Transfer from your Hotel to the Zanzibar Airport
  • Departure flight to Mafia Island
  • Arrival in Mafia airstrip, Pick up & Transfer to Kilindoni, Briefing with your guide
  • Snorkelling with whale shark
  • Lunch in Kilindoni, Transfer to the airstrip
  • Return flight to Zanzibar
  • Arrival in Zanzibar & Transfer to your resort.

Minimum passenger to book and go must be from 5 to 13 passenger, we have two kind of flight picking up our guest from Zanzibar so that the minimum 5 people to go, so even your one or two person you can book but we will add other people to go

Day trip Zanzibar to Mafia Island by flight check your date or send us your request date then we will advise or if your group of 5 person we do private tour more date are coming.
